DEATH OF MRS. MARY CARDER
Tuesday March 15th, the entire community was saddened by the news of the death of Mrs. W. J. Carder. She had lived in Eagle Grove for the past fourteen years and had endeared herself to everyone who knew her. Gentle loving and kind, she had made hosts of friends, who are deeply grieved that she was called from their midst.

Mary Wynant was born January 5, 1839 in Champaign County, Ohio. When she was about 13 years of age her parents moved to Indiana. On May 18, 1862, she was married at Warsaw, Ind., to Wesley J. Carder. They moved to Eagle Grove in 1883 and remained until 1887, returning in 1896. Mr. Carder was actively engaged in the lumber business until 1902, when he was taken with typhoid fever. He succumbed to the disease on August 30, and was buried in Rose Hill cemetery. Since the death of her husband Mrs. Carder has been living with her son, Charles. The funeral will be held Thursday p.m. in the Methodist church, at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. Chapler preaching the funeral sermon. Burial will be made in Rose Hill cemetery, and she will be laid to rest by the side of her husband. The sympathy of the whole community goes out to the bereaved relatives and friends in their great sorrow.
