MANLY — Ronald Eugene Nuehring, 78, of Manly died Saturday (May 7, 2016) at the Muse-Norris Inpatient Unit Hospice of North Iowa, Mason City. A funeral service for Ronald will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (May 11, 2016) at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 428 W. Walnut, Manly, with the Rev. Linda Johnson-Prestholt officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7:00 p.m. at Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 E. Spring Street, Manly, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Ronald E. Nuehring Memorial Fund in care of Lowell Nuehring.
Ronald Eugene Nuehring was born on September 2, 1937, in Belmond, the son of Rudolph A. and Loretta H. (Nolte) Nuehring. He attended country school Lincoln No. 9 in rural Mason City. Later he joined the United States Army, from which he was honorably discharged. Ronald farmed for many years in the Mason City area. He later moved to Dexter, MN, and farmed for Pete and Bonnie Tangren. He retired after 25 years of doing what he loved. Ron moved back to Manly, Iowa, to enjoy his retirement closer to his family. Ron loved spending time with his family and friends. Ron was a regular at the local coffee shops and enjoyed sharing farming stories. He was known by many as "Uncle Ron."
Ron enjoyed collecting International Harvester tractors. Ron was a member of the Deer Creek Antique Tractor Club and enjoyed attending various thrashing days, tractor pulls, tractor shows, and parades.
Ronald is survived by his brother, Lowell Nuehring of Clear Lake; his sisters-in-law, Joyce Nuehring, Manly, and Dorothy Nuehring, Mason City; nieces and nephews, Leonard Hapes, Dennis (Mary) Hapes, Kenny (Kenda) Hapes, Roger (Sue) Nuehring, Steven (Julie) Nuehring, Nancy Nuehring, Mary (Jeff) Lentz, Mona (Jim) Pope, Molly (David) Drenth, Dan (Amber) Nuehring, and Dana (Sonny) Anjum; along with many numerous great nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Arthur Ressler, Phyllis Huffaker, Richard Nuehring, and Darold Nuehring; sister-in-law, Linda Nuehring; and an infant niece, Barbara Ann Nuehring.
