The hot weather for the past month has been very hard on the babies in our city, and nearly everyone is more or less sick. A number have succumbed after a hard struggle, and last week three or four were laid to rest in Rose Hill cemetery.

Little Recka Putzier, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Putzier, residing on Iowa avenue, died last Friday of cholera infantum. She had been sick less than two weeks, but all that loving hands and medical skill could do was without avail. The funeral took place last Saturday afternoon. Only eight mouths old, she was the sunbeam of their home, and the heart felt sympathy of all is extended to the parents in their affliction.
