Miss Mima Middleton died at the John Middleton home in this city Thursday, February 4th, at 8 p.m. Miss Middleton had been in failing health for some months and at last succumbed to the disease, cancer of the stomach. The funeral was held at the Methodist church Saturday at 1 o'clock p. m. Rev. H. K. Hastings, her pastor, conducting the ceremonies and the burial was in the family lot in Rose Hill cemetery. Miss Middleton came to this county from Ohio with her parents in 1855 at the age of four years and was 51 years of age at her death. She has always lived with her parents in this city and for many years was a compositor in the Gazette office and has also assisted in the EAGLE office in that capacity. She had many noble qualities of mind and heart, kind generous and faithful to every trust. She was a member of the Methodist church and was a genuine good woman and true christian.

Her father died about two years ago and her aged mother survives her, with two brothers, John and Allen, of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Ed Gunderson, of this city, and Mrs. N. Slaikeu, of Eagle Grove township. The bereaved mother and surviving relatives have the sympathy of a large circle of friends.
