SPRING GREEN - Leona Christine Reimann , 83, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2005, at St. Marys Hospital, Madison. Leona was born May 11, 1921, in Iowa, daughter of the late Hans and Myrtle (Schmidtkunz) Baago. She married Roland Reimann on June 1, 1946 in Fenton, Iowa. He survives. Leona worked for the Globe Gazette Newspaper in Mason City, Iowa, before proudly serving her country in the United States Navy, W.A.V.E.S., during World War II. When she returned she helped Roland on their farm and various other jobs until she began working as a loan officer at the former Bank of Spring Green. Besides her husband, Roland Reimann of Arena, she is survived by a daughter, Leah Reimann of Stoddard; and two sons, Eugene (Debra) Reimann of Endeavor, and Dwight (Jean) Reimann of Arena; five grandchildren, Rachel, Eugene, Rebecca, Kyle and Kevin; niece, Donna (Doug) Slater of Freeport, Ill., and Dennis (Helen) Fuller of St Louis, Mo. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a twin sister, Lillian Fuller.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2005, at ARENA CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH. The Rev. Leslie Shultz will officiate. Burial will be in Arena Cemetery where full military honors will be performed by the local area veterans group. Friends may call on Sunday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at RICHARDSON-STAFFORD FUNERAL HOME, Spring Green, and again on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church in Arena. Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home, Spring Green, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
