Died in this city at her home on North Cadwell avenue last Friday, April 15, at 5:30 p. m., Mrs. Anna J. Callahan, wife of Joseph Callahan, aged about 37 years.
Mrs. Callahan was a woman with many friends. She had been sick about three weeks. Pneumonia was the first difficulty and this was followed by dropsy, which proved fatal. By her death sadness and sorrow comes to another happy household. She leaves a kind and loving husband and six children to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and fond mother, two of the little ones being twin babes only two months old — a girl and boy.

Afterwards they moved to Des Moines and in 1895 they came to Eagle Grove. Mr. Callahan finding employment in the Northwestern shops as a machinist.
Mrs. Callahan's maiden name was Anna McDonough. Her parents are dead, but two sisters were at her bedside to minister to her wants during her sickness. They are Mrs. H. J. Hall, of Osage, Iowa, and Mrs. George Hughes, of Mason City. She also has three brothers living, who were present at the funeral— Messrs. Frank Malcom and Andrew McDonough, of Mantorville, Minn., and Mrs. Frank McDonough accompanied her husband. Her brothers-in-law, Mr. Hall and Mr. Hughes, were likewise here.
Monday morning at 9 o'clock the remains were taken to the Catholic church, and after the funeral ceremonies, conducted by Father Garland, were buried at Rose Hill cemetery. In their sorrow and loss Mr. Callahan and children have the sincere sympathy of all their friends.
