August 1, 1892 ---- October 4, 1967

George Theodore Anderson was born on August 1, 1892 at Herscher, Illinois, the son of Johan and Nellie Thompson Anderson. He attended school at Kanawha and also attended Business College at Humboldt, Iowa. On November 8, 1914, he was united in marriage to Antonia Hovland of Kanawha at St. John's Lutheran Church South of Kanawha. The couple then resided in Kanawha where Mr. Anderson was employed in the bank.

Mr. and Mrs. Anderson became the parents of 6 children, 4 of whom survive, they are: Paul R. Anderson, Eagle Grove; Norma, Mrs. Ervin Ruka, River Falls, Wisc., Josephine, Mrs. Eldo Nichols, Clarion; Lucille, Mrs. Larry Moyer, Arlington, Va. One son, Arnold G. Anderson of Eagle Grove preceded him in death in May of this year, and a son, Otis George Anderson died in 1927, at the age of 7. In 1939, the family came to Eagle Grove and Mr. Anderson was employed by Walter Flower as a plumber and salesman. He retired in 1957 and had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Anderson died Oct 4, 1967 at the Mercy Hospital in Ft. Dodge where he had been a patient since August 31, at the age of 75 years, 1 month, 4 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sons. He is survived by his wife, one son and three daughters, also sixteen grandchildren.
