Mrs. Grace Middleton Dies In California

Mrs. H. W. Barnes received word Tuesday night of the death of Mrs. Grace Middleton formerly of Eagle Grove. She died that day in Long Beach, Calif., where she had been with her daughter Miss Margaret Middleton since June of this year. Burial will be in Long Beach. Previous to moving to Long Beach, Mrs. Middleton had resided in Des Moines and for many years had been matron at the Iowa State Capitol building. She retired due to her long illness this spring. She was the former Grace Moats of Eagle Grove and is survived by her daughter Margaret and one sister Mrs. Hazel Rice of San Rafael, Calif. Her husband Claude Middleton a long time Eagle Grove business man died in 1933. Mrs. Middleton was a member of the First Congregational Church in Eagle Grove, where she served as organist for many years. She was a charter member of the Cecilian Music Club, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine, P.E.O. and the Woman's Club.
