October 25, 1926 --- March 2, 1974

Funeral services for Harland R. Harris, 47, were held Tuesday, March 5, at 2 p.m. in St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Rev. Palmer Loken officiating. Schellhammer Funeral Home of West Bend was in charge with burial in St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery, Bode. Harland Robert Harris, son of John and Hilda Harris, was born Oct. 25, 1926 at Hardy where he grew up and received his education. He moved to Bode in 1949, where he was a trucker. At the time of his death he was employed by Abbas Trucking Co. of Dakota City. Jan. 25, 1949, he was married to Audrey Pedersen at Bode. Mr. Harris died March 2 in Humboldt County Memorial Hospital reaching the age of 47 years. Surviving are: the widow, Audrey; four children: John Harris, Meadow, N.Y.; Steven Harris, Hayward, Calif.; Brett Harris and Peggy Harris, Bode; his mother, Mrs. Guy Lansing, Bode; and two sisters: Mrs. Geraldine Blair, Humboldt and Mrs. Beverly Thompson, Forest City. Mr. Harris was a member of the Bode Fire Department and Clover Leaf American Legion Post 425, both of Bode, and was a veteran of World War II. During the services Mrs. Donald Aure sang "How Great Thou Art" and "The Lord's Prayer" accompanied by Mrs. David Engel. Casket bearers were Arlis Kinseth, Jerry Christianson, John Christianson, Roger Rongved, Duane Weydert and Donald Christianson. The floral committee was Mrs. Arlis Kinseth, Mrs. Donald Kinne, Mrs. Orville Olson, Mrs. Donald Johnson and Mrs. Robert Aure.
