July 29, 1850 --- April 24, 1937

Nathan Franklin Carr was born in Liverpool, Ohio, on July 29, 1850 and passed away at his home on April 24, 1937, at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 5 days. He was one of a family of seven children all of whom have passed on before. In 1873 he married Emily C. Allyn, and to this union two children were born, Mortimer A. who died October 18, 1898, and Arthur Carr who resides here. He is survived also by his wife, and three grandchildren. Mr. Carr was a pioneer resident here, having lived here since 1892. He spent most of his life in farming, except for a short time when he operated a hotel here. He was always very active, even in his last few years, until his last illness in which he was bedfast for several months. During this time he suffered much, but was usually able to enjoy a good visit with his friends until the last few days.

Mr. Carr joined the Methodist church in the early years of his life, and was always interested in all the worthy causes for the betterment of the community. He was well respected by all who knew him. The community has lost a kind friend, and a good neighbor. He lived a live of service to his fellowman, and his memory will ever linger in the hearts of all who knew him. On February 26, 1937 Mr. and Mrs. Carr celebrated their sixty fourth anniversary. Open house was held at their home that day, and Mr. and Mrs. Carr was able to enjoy visiting with the many friends who called on them that day.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday at 2:30 p. m. The Rev. C. R. Yeager local pastor officiated. Internment was at Vernon cemetery.
