April 5, 1905 ----- November 9, 1995

Marietta Riley, a lifelong resident of the Rolla community, died Thursday Nov. 9, 1995 at the Heritage Park Nursing Home after a lingering illness. She was married to her husband Lee Riley, for 65 years. They lived in the Rolla community throughout their lifetime; first in the Macedonia community north of Rolla where they operated a farm and later in the city of Rolla. Mrs. Riley graduated from Lincoln University in 1962 with a degree in teaching. She was well known as a fifth grade school teacher, having taught school for 23 years, both in rural areas in the 1930's and later in the Rolla School System. She retired from teaching in 1970 and was active as an officer in various community clubs and programs. She and her husband have been longtime, active members of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Lee Riley, of Rolla; three children, Elaine Hailey, of Rolla, Kenneth Riley, of San Marino, Calif., and Wanda Logan, of Springfield, Va.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Inez Dressendofer, of Vichy, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors from 4:30-6:30 p.m. today, Sunday Nov. 12, 1995, at the Null and Son Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mrs. Riley will be held at 2 p.m. Monday Nov. 13, 1995 at the Macedonia Baptist Church with the Reverend Tim Richards officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery with Null and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
