Mr. David Carpenter, age 57 of Franklin, Kentucky died Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Medical Center in Franklin. Crafton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement. Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held at a later date. A native of Belmond, Iowa, he was the son of the late Merrel Charles Carpenter and Marion Meints Carpenter who survives in Iowa. HE was a civil engineer. He is survived locally by his wife – Kathleen Carpenter.

David Merrel Carpenter, 57, formerly from Kanawha, died from a sudden illness on March 7, 2016 at The Clinic At Franklin in Franklin, Kentucky.

David was the son of Merrel and Marion (Meints) Carpenter. He was born on February 19, 1959 in Belmond. David grew up on the farm on the north side of East Twin Lake between Goodell and Kanawha. He went to school and graduated from Kanawha Community School. David spent most of his working life doing construction. Some of it was done on high rise buildings in the southern states.

David was married to Kathleen “Kat” on June 30, 2008. They were living in Franklin, Kentucky. David was preceded in death by his Father Merrel Carpenter and both sets of grandparents Lloyd and Lenora Shelton Carpenter and William (Bill) and Tillie (Henn) Meints, nephew Cory Carpenter, five uncles, and 2 aunts. David is survived by his wife Kathleen, two daughters Janice of Coolidge, AZ, and Tiffany of Cheyenne, WY, four grandchildren Alex, Natasha, Alyssa, Mariah, three step children Kierston Marie, Jesse Lee, Kassandra Faith, one step grandson Luc Cooper, his mother Marion Carpenter of Belmond, sister Peggy Berhow, husband Les of Belmond, brother Allen, wife Tammy of Alexander, sister Sandy Baxter, husband Darrel of Alexander, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
