Patricia A. Kniel, age 87, of Quincy, Illinois died Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 7:40 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. Patricia was born June 4, 1928 in Eagle Grove, IA, the daughter of Orville and Charlotte Biondahl Boughton. On May 28, 1951 she married William Kniel in Eagle Grove, IA. He survives. Patricia was a 1946 graduate of Eagle Grove High School, a 1948 graduate of Shimer College and a 1950 graduate of Drake University. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She taught elementary and high school music for 8 years and taught piano for over 50 years. She is a member of Vermont Street United Methodist Church, and Chapter IE of the P.E.O. sisterhood for over 50 years.

In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by three children; Lisa (John) Spear of Bonita Springs, FL, Lynn (Michael) Shuba of Woodbury, MN, and Scott (Beth) Kniel of Quincy; eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her guardians C.A. and Orpha Kastler and a son, Bret William Kniel.

Memorial Services: Saturday, (April 16, 2016) at 11 a.m. in the Vermont Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Patty Johansen officiating. Private Inurnment: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois Visitation: Saturday April 16, 2016 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at Vermont Street United Methodist Church. Memorials: Illinois State Music Teachers Association (Quincy Chapter), or Adams County A.R.C., or Vermont Street United Methodist Church.
