Charlotte Pletcher was born on January 7, 1923, at Clarion, Iowa, to Ralph and Evelyn Knight Pletcher. She grew up at Clarion and graduated from Clarion High School. On June 1,1941, she was united in marriage to Edwin Berkely Amosson at her home in Clarion. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, where she was very active in church projects and was a member of Miriam Circle.

Charlotte Amosson died Thursday, January 27, 2000, at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, at the age of 77. She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Joy Slater, Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five sisters, Irene Kolbeck, Clinton, Iowa, Eura Marrs, Oak Lawn, Ill., Cleo Bosworth, Webster City, Iowa, Evea Laurisch, Brookfield, Ill., and Eva Peyton, and husband, Melvin, Aredale, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin, January 8, 1988; one son, Edwin Amos Amosson; one brother, Eldon Pletcher; and a sister, Geneva Pletcher. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 29, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, with the Reverends Paul and Susan Stone officiating. Burial was held in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
