Hans C. Rasmussen, 95, Hampton, a former farmer in the Sheffield area, died Tuesday, May 27, 1986, in the Sheffield Care Center where he had resided since February of 1985. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 30, at 1:30 p.m. in the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Rev. J. B. Sheaffer officiated. Organist was Norman Sandberg. Interment was made in Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Rube, Marvin McKee, Hilbur Andersen, Verner Jensen, Jed Nagel and Wayne Grant.
Hans C. Rasmussen, son of Soren and Elizabeth Hansen Rasmussen, was born at Hobro, Denmark on May 2, 1891. He immigrated to the United States in 1914. He was united in marriage to Edith Petersen in Hampton on Nov. 24, 1917. Two children were born to this union. They farmed in the Alexander area, later west of Sheffield, then moved to Hampton in 1950, where he was employed by the E. P. Gutz Brokerage firm for 12 years. He was a 60 year member of Anchor Lodge No. 191.
Surviving are his wife, Edith of Hampton; son, Earl Rasmussen of Sheffield; daughter, Mrs. Walter (Elaine) Rother of Hampton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Julius Rasmussen of Hobro, Denmark. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Chris, Nels and John Rasmussen; one sister, Sena Dahl.
