August 7, 1859 ---- October 2, 1940

Henry Dippel was born in Hotzback, Germany, August 7, 1859, and was called to his eternal rest October 2, 1940, at the age of 81 years, 1 Month and 26 days. He is the last of seven children. At the age of 3 he came to America with his parents. After residing in New York for three years, the family moved to Granville, Ill., where he grew to manhood. On October 30, 1884, he was united in marriage to Marie Gertrude Gimbel who preceded him, October 17, 1935. In the spring of 1894 he moved to Iowa where he farmed until 1914 at which time he moved to Belmond, Iowa, where he made his home until his death. Mr. Dippel was in failing health for the last five years. He leaves to mourn in parting five children; Robert J. of Council Bluffs; Ervin E. of Clear Lake; George G. of Fillmore, Calif.; Mrs. Ralph Thayer and Mrs. Harold Smith of Belmond. Seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
