Mrs. Henry Dipple, resident of Belmond since 1894, died at her home Thursday afternoon from a heart attack. About 10 months ago Mrs. Dipple fell and broke her hip, and since that time has been confined to her bed and a wheel chair.
The heart attack came suddenly as she was working on a quilt with her friend, Mrs. D. L. Mallory.Marie Gertrude Gimbel was born in Hesse, Germany, January 2, 1865, and died in Belmond, Iowa, October 17, 1935, at the age of 70 years, 9 months, and 17 days. She came to America with her parents at the age of 3 years, where she grew to womanhood at Granville, Illinois, and there was united in marriage to Henry Dipple, October 30, 1884. In the spring of 1894 they moved to Belmond, Iowa, where they have made their home. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and five children, Robert J. of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Ervin E. of Belmond, and George G. of Fillmore, Calif.; Anelelia G. Thayer of Belmond and Hattie C. Smith of Alexander, Iowa. One grandson, Lewis, whom she raised from infancy, besides 16 other grandchildren and one great-grandson survive. She was baptized in infancy and confirmed in the Lutheran church. For years, while health permitted she was a faithful member of the Congregational church. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon with Rev. A. H. Anderson of the Congregational church in charge. Interment was in the Belmond cemetery.
