David William Schwichtenberg, son of John Carl and Emma Kraus Schwichtenberg was born November 25, 1895 in Clayton County, Iowa. He moved to Liberty Township in 1899. He was united in marriage to Carrie Reemtsma and to this union 4 children were born. David passed away at his home in Klemme on Saturdy, April 4, 1981 at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 9 days.

He is survived by his children Mrs. Harvey (Jean) Gruis of Thornton, Iowa; Mrs. Arnold (Viola) Blau Klemme, Iowa; John Schwichtenberg of Clear Lake, Iowa; and Jesse Schwichtenberg of Goodell, Iowa. 12 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Ben of Vallejo, Calif. and 1 sister Mrs. Wesley (Berdice) Fenstermann of Prairie du Sac, Wisc. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 1 brother, 3 sisters and 1 granddaughter.

David farmed for 26 years and moved to Klemme in 1945 and began a trucking business. He served in World War I with the Field Artillery, with combat duty in France. He was a lifetime member of Adam Schaefer American Legion Post No. 625. David was a member of the United Methodist Church.
