Eloise Scott, 67, Superior area resident, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005 at her residence. Eloise was born in Moorhead, Iowa on Jan. 1, 1938 to Jens P. and Hazel (Kalskett) Johnson. She attended St. Olaf College and graduated from the University Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor's Degree in music and was employed as an executive secretary for Minnesota Power. She married Dr. C. Malcolm Scott on Aug. 17, 1957 in Belmond, Iowa. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, and served as a council member and was a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of P.E.O. Chapter BU; a St. Mary's Hospice Volunteer and was a board member and volunteer for the United Way, a Duluth Superior Symphony board member, and a member of the Schubert Club in Superior. Eloise loved reading, boating, and was an avid skier and hiker and loved the outdoors.

She is preceded in death by her son, Dr. Mark Peter Scott; her parents, Jens and Hazel Johnson; one brother, Roy M. Johnson and her father-in-law, Clarence M. Scott D.O. Eloise is survived by her husband, Dr. C. Malcolm Scott, MD; daughter, Kristin Joy Scott McMurty, Excelsior, Minn.; son-in-law, John McMurty, Excelsior, Minn., daughter-in-law, Sonia Valdivia, MD, Middleton, Wis.; four grandchildren, Kelsey and Ryan McMurty, Excelsior, Minn., and Jessica and Tamara Scott, Middleton, Wis.; mother-in-law, Grace W. Scott, Superior, Wis.; three brothers, Willard C. Johnson, Rochester, Minn., Earl M. Johnson, Standish, Maine, and Ronald K. Johnson, Belmond, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

VISITATION:10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church and continues until the 11 a.m. memorial service with Pastor Scott Ludford officiating. Memorials may be made to the Duluth Clinic Foundation. Downs-LeSage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
