Shirley A. Tate, 71 of Hannibal, MO died at 6:00 PM at her home on Saturday, September 1, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Burial will be at Barkley Cemetery in New London, MO. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home on Wednesday.

She was first married to Clyde Johnson. He survives. Shirley later married Ronald Tate. He preceded her in death. Survivors include Shirley's longtime companion: Robert A. Fuqua; two children, Jacqueline Johnson and Duane Johnson both of Hannibal, MO; two brothers, Kim of Belmond, Iowa and Irwin Crabtree of Atlantic City, NJ; one sister, Sharon Hauge (Jerry) of Belmond, Iowa; four grandchildren, Christopher King, Jacob King, Carrie and Casey Johnson; two great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Patty Greene.

Shirley was a retired waitress. She had last worked at Logue's Restaurant, where she waitressed for over 15 years and earned the waitress of the year award four times. In the past Shirley had also waitressed at the Mark Twain Hotel, the Steamboat Inn, Fern's and Kathy B's. She loved to watch movies and car races. Shirley especially loved her dogs, "Gunner" and "Doc". She also liked to fish and enjoyed going to get coffee with friends and visit at Logue's in the morning.
