FARMINGTON - Albert L. Turner, 57, of Farmington, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids. He was born on Feb. 16, 1944, in Eagle Grove, the son of Francis and Margaret Clark Turner. He married Beverly Burke on Aug. 23, 1969, in Chicago. She survives. Additional survivors include: a son, Dan Turner and his wife, Allison, of Donnellson; a daughter, Mrs. Eric (Julie) Toben of Banks, Ore.; two sisters, Marilyn Barker and her husband, Ronnie, of Moravia and Jeanne Talbot and her husband, Gary, of Shelley, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his father. He had moved from Fort Dodge to Farmington in 1989. Mr. Turner graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in farm operations. He was in the Navy from 1967 to 1973. Mr. Turner was the county executive director of the Van Buren Co. Farm Service Agency. He was a member of the Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever and was a lifetime member of the N.R.A.
Mr. Turner was a member of the Farmington Auctioneers, Farmington Gun Club, former member of the Lions and Kiwanis and was co-founder or t-2000 Ridge till Club. Mr. Turner was a certified hunters education instructor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, camping and walking with his walking buddies. There will be a service. The body will be cremated following the visitation. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, with family meeting friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Wildlife Conservation Fund.
