October 22, 1931 --- March 22, 2002

Robert F. Johnson, 70 years old of Salem, WI passed away Friday, March 22, 2002 at the Aurora Health Care Center, Kenosha, WI. He was born October 22, 1931 in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the son of the late Henry L. and Stella Nee Keister Johnson. From 1947 until 1948 he served in the Iowa National Guard as an M.P. During the Korean Conflict he served with the U.S. Navy as a Machinist Mate 2nd Class, from 1951 until 1955, with service aboard the USS Philippine Sea. He is a member of the V.F.W. Post 4308 in Lake Villa, IL and was a past adjutant.

On March 2, 1957 he married Mary Jane Bell in Waterloo, Iowa. They moved to IL, living in Lindenhurst, Round Lake and Zion before moving to Center Lake, WI in 1993 and then to Salem in 1998. Bob is a member is the Antioch Evangelical Free Church and was a former member and trustee of the Lake Region Bible Church in Round Lake. At the time of his retirement he was a maintenance engineer for the Waukegan School District #60.

Survivors include his wife Mary Jane, three sons, Michael Ray and Scott Arthur, both of Salem, WI and Ronald Dean of Green Bay, WI, one daughter, Brenada Jane (William) West of Antioch, IL, nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Shannon, Benjamin, Daniel, Joshua, Zachariah, Tiffany, Kateri and Carie, two brothers, Link (Karen) in Iowa and Peter (Theresa) in California, two sisters, Fay (Larry) Johnson in California and Myrtle (Jack) Price in Iowa. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, Ray and Jake and one sister, Donna.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St., (Rte. 83). Interment will be in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, WI. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 until 8 pm Monday where V.F.W. services will be held at 7:00 pm. Those desiring may make contributions to the Campus Crusade for Christ, in his memory.
