Donald C. Jones, 66, Winger, [Minnesota] died Friday, May 5, 2000, at home.

Donald C. Jones was born May 14, 1933, the son of Franklin and Leona (Bowers) Jones, in Rowan, Iowa. He moved with his family to Mentor, Minn., where he attended school. He joined the U.S. Army in 1953 and served during the Korean War until 1955. He returned to the Mentor area and drove truck for his dad hauling gravel for B.C. Ness, Mahnomen, Minn. In 1956, he moved to Minneapolis. He worked for a car wash and then as a wax injector for Reuter Manufacturing. He married Jeanine Bursheim on July 4, 1959, in Winger. They lived in Minneapolis until 1965, when they moved to Little Rock, Ark. He owned a gravel truck working on the Arkansas River. In 1968, they moved to Winger, where he hauled grain by semi truck.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Thomas, Grove, Okla.; daughters, Susan, Winger, and Stephanie, Duluth; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Robert (Dody), Mora, Minn.; and a sister, Irene Stevens, Chariton, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy; and a daughter, Wendy.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dovre Free Lutheran Church, Winger, MN.

Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Mattson Funeral Home, Winger, MN.

Burial: Dovre Cemetery.
