Don C. Embree, 74, passed away on August 24, 2015 in Arlington, [Texas]. A service celebrating Don's life will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 7pm at Mansfield Funeral Home. Interment of Don's cremated remains will be held at a later date at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Don was born February 18, 1941 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Jack and Marjorie Embree. He attended Colorado State University and received his bachelor degree in agricultural science and horticulture. Don was employed with Home Depot over 30 years and worked on his days off doing auto repair. He enjoyed working with his hands and filled his time building wooden trains and wood working. He always kept a positive outlook in life regardless of what challenges he was faced with. He never met a stranger and was remembered at work for decorating his mobility scooter for each holiday and greeting his customers. Don was a loving father who coached his children's sports teams and never missed any of their sporting events. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all he knew.
Don was preceded in death by his former wife, Barbara Ann Embree [nee: Stover] of Fort Worth and son, Brenton Embree of Dows, Iowa. He is survived by his son, Thomas J. Embree and wife Heather of Sachse, Texas; daughter, Devon Leigh Embree of Fort Worth; sister, Debbie Cooper of Ohio; grandchildren, Gavon Lee Embree of Fort Worth and Chandler Frith of Sachse.
