Mrs. M. Taylor Died Tuesday at Sibley
Passed away after lingering illness - funeral here today.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the M.E. church for Mrs. Minnie Taylor, who passed away early Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs Seth Tillotson, at Sibley. Mrs. Taylor suffered a stroke in February, and had been bedfast since that time. Burial was made in the Lakeview cemetery.

Minnie J. Packard was born in Wright county, Iowa, near the town of Renwick, where her father had taken up a homestead and while he was away in the service of his county during the Civil war. The date of her birth was October 29, 1861. She grew to womanhood in Wright county and was married there on May 25, 1883, to Enoch Taylor. She was one of a family of nine children, four sisters and five brothers in the family.

Mrs. Taylor was the last one of the four sisters. She is survived by her four brothers. The brothers are Clarence, Vene, Henry and Will, all of Humboldt county. Shortly after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Taylor came to Spirit Lake and she has lived here since that time, a matter of some 54 years. Their home was blessed with two children, Harry A. who passed away about three years ago, and Lula, now Mrs. Tillotson, of Sibley, who survives the passing of her mother. She also leaves two grandchildren and one great grandchild. They are Harry Tillotson and Clifford Duckett of Sibley, and Bobby Duckett, all of Sibley.

Mrs. Taylor by reason of her long residence in this community, was well and favorably known to a wide acquaintance. She was a member of the Methodist church, the Ladies Aid Society and the Daughters of Ruth Sunday school class. She was also a member of the W.C.T.U and of the Cemetery Society. She was preceded in death by her husband who died in June 1933. Then in the month of February, Mrs. Taylor suffered a stroke that completely incapacitated her and from which she never to any considerable extent rallied. She was taken to the home of her daughter in Sibley where she lingered day to day finally passing away Tuesday morning, May 25, at about 3 o'clock. She was at the age of 75 years, 6 months and 26 days.
