Carl A. Waddell Jr., 100, of Mason City, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2016 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapels, 126 3rd Street NE, Mason City, with Rev. Ed Bards officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapels, 126 3rd Street NE, Mason City. Memorial contributions can be directed to Beverly Murphy.

Carl A. Waddell Jr., son of Carl and Vera (Kimmit) Waddell, was born June 27, 1915 in Clarion, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Florence Nessett on June 25, 1949 in Mason City. Carl served in WWII and was in the Army for seven years. He moved to Mason City from Clarion in 1929, and worked for Mason City Lumber Company as a Yard Foreman and retired in 1977. Carl enjoyed visiting Mason City Lumber Company after retiring, and like the meals with his grandson, Joe, at Pro’s. He enjoyed spending time with family, having frequent visits by Angel Mitchell, and friends.

Carl is survived by his daughter, Beverly Murphy, Mason City; four granddaughters, Loree Mitchell, Lisa Schaer, Linda Westendorf and Diana Hampton, Mason City; five grandsons, Joe Fransen, Jim Fransen, Mike Fransen, Lowell (Kathy) Murphy, Mason City, and Jerry (Linda) Murphy, Florida, twenty-eight great grandchildren, and many more family and friends. Carl is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Florence Waddell, grandson, Chuck Murphy, great granddaughter, Kristy Fransen, four great grandsons, Tim Smith Sr., Randy Tuttle, Donny Westendorf Jr. and Cody Fransen, two brothers, Tom and George Waddell.
