DOUGHTY RITES IN EMMETSBURG SET FOR TODAY

Funeral services for James Frederick Doughty, 74, who died here Monday following a heart attack, will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at 1 p.m. in the Ellsworth-Beiter Funeral home and at 1:30 p.m. in the First Methodist church. The Rev. Ernest F. Martin will officiate at the services and burial will be in North Lawn cemetery in Fort Dodge.

Surviving, besides his wife, Mary, are two sons and two daughters. They are Marshall Doughty of Fort Dodge, Marlan Doughty of Des Moines, Mrs. Harold Middleton (Helen) of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Leonard Sniff (Lillian) of Peoria, Ill. Other survivors include two sisters; Mrs. James Knight of Bloomington, Ill.; Mrs. Nora Crabtree of Covington, Ky.; a brother, William Doughty of London, Ky., six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Born May 8, 1886, in London, Ky., he was the son of James [Franklin] and [Mary] Elizabeth (Lusk) Doughty. He was married to Mary B. Moore Jan. 6, 1909, in Normal, Ill. They resided at Woolstock before coming to Emmetsburg 21 years ago.
The pallbearers will be Cleo Doughty, Arlo Doughty, Glenn Caquelin, Howard Knutson, Wayne Yarber and Vaughn Doughty. Henry Hankey, accompanied by Mrs. Casper Nelson, will sing "In the Garden" and "No Night There."
