Kathryn Jane Tweedt was born in Fairmont, Minn. on July 12, 1940 to Harris Tweedt and Frances Prelip Tweedt. She had two younger brothers, Dennis and Wayne. The family moved to Los Angeles, Calif. in 1952. She attended Horace Mann Jr. High and later graduated from Washington High in 1958. After graduation, Kathryn worked for Citizens National Bank. In 1961 she married Vernon Miller and became the mother to two stepchildren, Larry and Linda. Vernon and Kathryn then had a child of their own, Wendy who was born in 1965. They moved to Lake Isabella in 1970.

Kathryn got a job as a sheriff dispatcher and a reserve deputy with the Kern County Sheriff's Department. She later divorced Vernon and retired from the sheriff's department. In 1988, Kathryn married the love of her life, William Verzi. She again became the mother of two more stepchildren, Julie and Jackie. William had a painting business where Kathryn helped him and also started her own wallpaper business.

The couple were very happy together. They were involved with the Dam Dancers square dance club. They were also members of the Rovers and loved to travel in their motor home. William passed away in 2007. Kathryn soon retired from the wallpaper business and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. In December of 2008 Kathryn was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and she passed away in January of 2009.

She is preceded in death by her father Harris and her brother Dennis. She is survived by her mother Frances Wilson and her brother Wayne Tweedt and his wife Carol. Her daughter Wendy Mullen and her husband Terry. Her stepson Larry Miller and his wife Barbara. Her stepdaughter Linda Miller. Her stepdaughter Julie Shearer and her husband Steve. Her stepdaughter Jackie Steinberg and her husband Kyle. Her grandchildren Jeff, Angie, Jennifer, Stephanie, Courtney, Tyler, Justin, Heather and Dale. She also has seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

We will all miss her very much. She was an avid hummingbird collector, so whenever we see a hummingbird we can remember how much joy she brought to our lives. She will be buried with her husband William and once again Prince Charming and Cinderella will be together again. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kernville United Methodist Church.
