Steven Dale Olson, 62, of Kapaau, Hawaii, an electrician and instructor at Hawaii Community College in Hilo, died at home. He was born in Clarion, Iowa. He is survived by wife Juanita Rivera; son Clifford; mother Doris; brother David; sisters Carol Helmke, Sheila Merrell and Annette Rust; and three grandchildren. Celebration of life and potluck dinner: 4-6 p.m. Friday at Kapaa Park, North Kohala, Hawaii.

Steven Dale Olson passed away November 6, 2015, at his home in Kapaau, Hawaii. A Celebration of Life was held on November 20 at Kapaa Park in Hawi, Hawaii. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family and mailed to P.O. Box 527, Kapaau, HI 96577.

Steven Olson was born March 8, 1953, in Clarion, Iowa. The fourth child of Duane K. (Bill) and Doris Kurfman Olson, Steve grew up on a farm near Goldfield, Iowa, and then in Goldfield. He graduated from Goldfield Community School. He graduated from Luther College in 1976 and moved to Hawaii with the love of his life, Juanita Rivera. Steve was an electrician and instructor of agriculture at the Hawaii Community College.

Steve was preceded in death by his father Duane K. (Bill) Olson. Steve is survived by his wife, Juanita Rivera; their son, Clifford (Guelynne) Rivera Olson; and three grandsons, Chavis, Gavin and Maverick. Also by his mother, Doris Olson of Goldfield; a brother David (Larayne) Olson of Sioux City; sisters, Carol Helmke of Eagle Grove, Sheila (Bert) Merrell of St. Louis, Mo., Annette (Jeff) Rust of Littleton, Colo.; many nephews and nieces; great-nephews and great-nieces; and loving relatives and friends.
