Virginia N. Larsson, 84, of Mazeppa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at her home, surrounded by family, after an unexpected illness. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa, with Pastor Alan Horn officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, Nov. 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home and on Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Virginia Nancy Tillman was born Sept. 30, 1931, to Vera and Ray Tillman, in Dows, Iowa. On Feb. 22, 1948, she married Craig M. Larsson at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home in Belmond, Iowa, where they started their family. In 1964, they moved to St. Charles, Ill. She worked for General Electric and The Pheasant Run Playhouse. They moved to Mazeppa in 1970, where they bought and farmed together until Craig Sr. passed away in 1993.

Virginia ran the farm independently since then. In 1982, she worked at the Fisherman's Inn Restaurant and the Golden Fox Café until opening her own restaurant, Broadway Cafe, with her daughter, Barb Kennedy. Virginia enjoyed winters with her husband in Phoenix, Ariz. For the last 20 years Virginia and her sister, Eleanor, drove her motorhome to Texas. Her daughter, Barb; sister, Bonnie; and brother, Corbin, all vacationed with her in Texas. Virginia was a member of Bear Valley Church, VFW Auxiliary and Ladies Aid. Her philosophy was "Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened."

Virginia is survived by her children, Steven (Deb) Larsson, of Lake of Egypt, Ill., Joel Larsson, of St. Cloud, Barbara (Howard) Kennedy, of Zumbro Falls, Craig Jr. (Jonathan Campbell) Larsson, of South Minneapolis; grandchildren, Christen (Brian) Forsell, Kyle (Sarah) Muenkel, Erin Larsson, Angela (Brad) McGee; great-grandchildren, Cole Muenkel, Kylin Muenkel, Kale Muenkel, McKenna Meyer, MaKenlee Forsell and Tillie McGee; one brother; and three sisters. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Craig Larsson Sr.; grandson, Eric Craig Larsson; two brothers; and two sisters.
