John T. Keller, M.D., 67, of Mansfield Street, a staff radiologist, and former chief of radiology at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Providence, for 13 years, died Tuesday at the Leonard Morse Hospital, Natick.
Born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, a son of the late Arthur E. and Mary Ellen (Keefe) Keller, he lived in Framingham since 1975. Dr. Keller graduated from Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa, in 1947, and Creighton University Medical School in 1952. He served his internship in the Air Force at Letterman Hospital, San Francisco, and his residency training in radiology at the University of Iowa in 1957. He was an Army Air Forces pilot in World War II with the Third Combat Cargo Squadron in the China-Burma-India Theater. He flew 488 combat missions and was highly decorated, having earned two Distinguished Flying Crosses, and 24 Air Medals.
He leaves an adopted son, Joseph E. Clinton, M.D. of Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Dorothea Clinton of Framingham, and a brother, Arthur E. Keller of Hickory, N.C. The funeral will be held Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Eugene J. McCarthy & Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., with a funeral Mass at 10 at St. Stephen's Church, Concord Street. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery.
