G. Rex Marr, 81, Norfolk, Neb. died Nov. 8, 2007 at Faith Regional Health Services, Norfolk. Rex was born Aug. 20, 1926 in Arion to Frank Lee and Jessie (Butler) Marr. He attended school in Denison and entered the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving from December of 1944 to August of 1946. Rex married Barbara J. Barrett, Jan. 26, 1963 in Chadron, Neb. They moved to Norfolk Jan. 1, 1966. He retired from the railroad Sept. 9, 1986. He was a member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge. He loved to tinker with cars and machinery.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include: his wife Barbara; sons John, Houston, Tex., Franklin, Norfolk, Neb.; grandson, Andrew, Norfolk, Neb.; Step-grandchildren, Amber Hatten, and Mary Anderson; three sisters, Bessie Siemer, Denison; Verna Miller, Dunlap; Ina Ulmer, Denison; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside Services were held Nov.13 at the Dow City Cemetery, Dow City.
Howser-Fillmer Mortuary, Norfolk, Neb. was in charge of arrangements.
