James (Jim) Herman Beisner, 83, died Sunday, November 1, 2015, in Des Moines, IA. Services will be Saturday, November 7, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Williams, IA. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. The Surls Funeral Chapel in Williams is in charge of arrangements.

Jim was born to Fred and Esther (Miller) Beisner on February 9, 1932, in Dows, IA. He was a graduate of Dows High School and married Lois Soma on July 11, 1959, in Belmond. He was the long-time manager of the Ellsworth-Williams Co-op in Williams, was a member of the local Lions Club, and served as treasurer and council member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; sister, Evelyn Denger of Dows; daughter, Carole (Kent) Henning of Johnston; son, Jeff (Diane) Beisner of Earlham; son, Les (Marit) Beisner of Cedar Falls; and six grandchildren, a niece, and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters, and an infant granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Williams, IA or the American Diabetes Association.
