Funeral Services Held Monday In Wisconsin For Art Stauffacher
Funeral services were held Monday, December 3, for Arthur Stauffacher, well known Renwick farmer, who died at Monroe, Wis., early Friday morning. Death was due to a heart attack. Pallbearers were Roy Rufi Jr., Kenneth Rufi, George D. Stauffacher, William Stauffacher, Stanley Rupnow, Henry E. Babler and Kenneth Stauffacher.
Arthur F. Stauffacher, son of Jacob and Barbara Klasse Stauffacher, was born in Mt. Pleasant Twp., Wis., August 2, 1893. He died at Monroe, Wis., early Friday morning, at the age of 63. Death was due to an acute heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Stauffacher left Renwick only two weeks previous to spend the winter in Monroe. At the age of 2, Arthur came with his parents to Iowa, which has since been his home. He was married in Monroe on September 24, 1925, to Miss Minnie Maaske, and they farmed near Renwick. Mrs. Stauffacher died May 26, 1950. On July, 1952, he married Mrs. Frieda Rufi, at Blue Earth, Minn.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, one daughter Mrs. Gerald Curlee of Lakewood, California; his mother, Mrs. Barbara Stauffacher of Humboldt; two sisters, Mrs. Terry Mitchell and Mrs. Edward Lundy, Sioux City; two stepsons Roy Rufi, Jr. of Monroe, Wis., and Kenneth Rufi of Milwaukee, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Thomas Timkin of El Paso, Texas, one grandchild and five step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, and his father in 1951.
The funeral was held at Monroe on Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the Shriner-Neushwander Funeral Home, with Rev. R. E. Kerney officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe.
Attending from Renwick were Mrs. Terry Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Klasse, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Walkner, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Britt, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Engstrom. Minnesota relatives in attendance were Lawrence and Melvin Klasse of Westbrook and Orville Klasse of Slayton.
