Funeral services for Mrs. E. L. (Mary C.) Templeton, 90, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral home February 12, with the Rev. E. C. Wolfe officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Pallbearers were Hank Lewis, Dennis Hill, Keith Bell, Dan Busse, Les Humphrey and Bill Fankhauser. Mrs. Templeton died at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids February 8.
The daughter of William B. and Martha Marker McClellan, she was born at Renwick October 31, 1894 and received her education in the rural schools in Cedar Bluff. She was married to Eddie L. Templeton at Cedar Rapids January 6, 1915. She was a resident of the Tipton community for 70 years. Following the death of her husband she was a clerk for Schultz Bros. for 16 years and worked for 8 years at the motel on North Cedar Street where the Maid Rite is located. She was a member of the Cedar Street Baptist church and the Friendly Circle of King's Daughters.
She is survived by a daughter, Arleen York, Stewartsville, Minnesota; 4 grandchildren,
4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sons, 2 brothers and 7 sisters.
