May 1, 1899 --- November 4, 1934

Funeral services for Oliver Tillman, youngest son of one of Wright county's foremost pioneer families, were attended by nearly five hundred people, making the service among the most impressive ever observed here. The service was conducted by the Rev. C. L. Duxbury, pastor of the Church of Christ. A coroner's jury Tuesday decided that Mr. Tillman, 35 year old farmer, died from injuries received while at work in the yard of their farm. After beginning the early morning farm work on Sunday, Mr. Tillman walked to the house and fell dead as he entered the door. After several consultations, doctors agreed that he had fallen in the yard and struck the back of his head.

Mr. Tillman was born in Wright county on May 1, 1889. His mother, Mrs. A. J. Tillman survives him, with his wife and two small children, a sister, Mae and four brothers, Bert, Charles, Ray and Walter, all of whom live near here.
