Bonnie Rae (Olson) McGrath, the daughter of Leonard and Genevieve (Larson) Olson, was born on October 17, 1927, in Humboldt, Iowa. She moved to Eagle Grove in 1940, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1945. Bonnie worked at the Eagle Grove Greenhouse and taught country school in Troy Township for a short time. On May 2, 1945, Bonnie was united in marriage with Don L. McGrath at the Humboldt Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove. Bonnie was an active member and volunteer of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove and of P.E.O.

Bonnie passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015, at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove, at the age of 87 years. She was preceded in death by an infant brother; her parents and husband, Don in 2004. Survivors include her, daughter, Susan Martin (Mike) of Monticello; son, John McGrath (Sandra) of Eagle Grove; eight grandchildren: Tim Martin, Andrea McGrath, Emily Martin, Billy Quintus, Lashelle Burger (Cory), Garrett Quintus (Mel), Mollie McGrath and Ariel Hansen (Brett) and ten great-grandchildren: Analise, Layne, Nora, Owen, Eve, Bella, Billy, Kaden, Drake and Landon.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015, 1:30 p.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with a visitation on Wednesday, from 5 to 7 pm at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Foust Funeral Homes, Eagle Grove and Goldfield in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
