Funeral services for Robert W. Woodard, age 98, of Albert Lea will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015 at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. Rev. Jim Rushton will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Robert died Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society.

Robert W. Woodard was born April 2, 1917 in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Bob grew up in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School. After graduation he worked at Wilson Co. On January 21, 1939 Robert was united in marriage to Margaret Nelson in Northwood, IA. They lived in Albert Lea until 1953. The couple then made their home northeast of Glenville where they lived and farmed for 50 years. Robert was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Glenville. He enjoyed playing cards and cribbage, having coffee and visiting with family and he always made time for his great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his children Judi and husband Fred Moller, Albert Lea and Wayne and wife Susan Woodard, Albert Lea; grandchildren Vicki and Nathan Lund, Chris and Jay LaVallie, Matthew and Angela Moller, Karen and Aaron Warwick and Katie and Barry Cech; great-grandchildren Joshua and Rebecca Moffitt, Martina, Courtney and Jessica LaVallie, Maggie, Judd, Greta and Cleo Moller, Sophia, Henry and Stella Warwick; great-great-grandson Otto Moffitt and nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife Margaret and brothers Virgil in infancy and Johnny in WWII.
