April 14, 1900 --- July 20, 1989

Henry Timmerman was born on April 14, 1900, the son of Friedrich Johann Joachin and Bertha Wiedmann Timmerman, at Hamburg, Germany. He was educated in Hamburg, Germany schools. Henry moved to the United States in 1923, fulfilling his dream of becoming a United States citizen. Though missing the family members he left behind, Henry had never regretted his decision. Upon arriving here, and settling in the Midwest, Henry began farming near Saratoga, Iowa. He later moved to a farm in rural Eyota, Minnesota. He met his wife to be when he relocated to Maple Leaf, Iowa.

Henry was united in marriage to Greone Kessler of Riceville, Iowa, on February 28, 1938, at Spring Valley, Minnesota. The couple made their home near Maple Leaf, before moving to Eagle Grove in 1946. Henry was employed by Farmland Industries in Eagle Grove, until his retirement in 1965. He kept himself busy after his retirement by working part-time for M&M Livestock Products, in Eagle Grove.

Greone, Henry's wife of 49 years, passed away on January 13,1988, due to the blockage of blood leading to the lungs. Up until his death at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, on July 20, 1989, Henry received much love and support from his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by 4 sons - Dale of Badger, Iowa, and Jerry, Fred and Ted all of Eagle Grove, Iowa: 3 daughters - Gloria (Mrs. Robert) Butler of Camanche, Iowa, Mary Ann (Mrs. Ronald) Ryerson of Scarville, Iowa, and Beverly of Eagle Grove, Iowa. One brother Walter of Eagle Grove and one sister Emma Horn of Lompoc, California. Also surviving are numerous grand and great-grandchildren as well as his family and friends still living in Germany. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Greone, 2 brothers; 2 sisters and 2 grandchildren.

He was a member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. As a member he held various offices within the church. Funeral services for Henry Timmerman, 89, of Eagle Grove, were held on July 24, 1989, at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, in Eagle Grove. The Reverend T.L. Evans officiated with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
