Lynn Carlson was born to Carl and Elva Carlson on April 2, 1922 in rural Stanton, IA. Later he moved to Red Oak, IA. He moved with his parents to Arcadia, CA for a few years and attended High School there. They returned to the Midwest, and farming, when he met Marilyn and they were married August 26, 1942. They soon moved to north central Iowa to continue farming and raise three children. He branched out from farming and worked at Monsanto Fertilizer Company in Renwick, IA and then later on became a manager at Farm Service, a feed, seed and fertilizer company in Goldfield, IA. He served as the Goldfield City Mayor for several years.

Lynn and Marilyn retired to Green Valley, AZ 22 years ago. They enjoyed the warmth, golfing, their friends and their church. They loved their home in Pueblo Estates. They became members of Desert Hills Lutheran Church in Green Valley shortly after their move.

Lynn is survived by his wife Marilyn, of 73 years of marriage, their son, Jerry (Leigh) of Palm Desert, CA, Jim (Melodie) of Alta, IA and Diane (Chuck) Newville of Beaumont, CA. They have six grandchildren; Jonathan Carlson, Jeff, Jason (Allison), Jenny Carlson, Ashley Newville and Amanda (Kenny) Kostohris and seven great grandchildren; Glenn, Molly, Isaac, Frank, Caitlyn, Dusty and Paisley. Lynn is also survived by three brothers; Glen, Darl and Dale (Carolyn) Carlson. He is also survived by two sister-in-law’s; Irene Boyer and Ruth Youngberg. Also, survived by many nephews, nieces and many other family members and friends.

Lynn and Marilyn moved to Beaumont, CA in October 2014 to be with family.
