June 13, 1900 --- March 13, 1995

Anna Swelland, 94, Cannon Falls, long-time resident of the Kenyon area, died on Monday, March 13, 1995 at the Cannon Manor Nursing Home in Cannon Falls, where she had been living for the past seven years. She was born on June 13, 1900 in Eagle Grove, IA, the daughter of Lars and Anna Hatteberg Stueland. She married Martin Swelland in 1917 and in 1921 they moved to Kenyon, where they farmed. Martin died in 1962. Shortly after she became blind due to glaucoma, yet she managed to live by herself in the Roseview Apts. in Kenyon until entering Cannon Manor Nursing Home. Anna was a member of the Hauge Lutheran Church in Kenyon and shared her piano playing talent as well as witnessing to others of the Lord she loved.
