Donelly M. Martinson, 59, of 1503 SW Ninth St. died Sunday morning, Aug. 28, in Rice County District One Hospital following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First English Lutheran Church with the Rev. Arthur M. Feroe and the Rev. Duane Hoven officiating. Interment will be in Meadow Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Boldt Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Thursday in the church.

Donelly M. Martinson, son of Oliver and Nelia Muus Martinson, was born Jan. 3, 1929 in Clarion, Iowa. He married Colleen Schwert Feb. 24, 1950, in Faribault. For the past eight years, he has been associated with Century 21 Realty and Nelson-Reineke Realty Inc. He was past president of the Faribault Rotary Club and was chairman of the Norwegian Festivities of the Faribault Heritage Festival in 1986. He is survived by his wife, Colleen; four children, Mrs, Al (Vicki) Groman of Virginia Beach, Va., Bruce of Frankfurt, Germany, Lynette of Faribault, and Deanna of Mankato; seven grandchildren; his mother, Nelia J. Martinson of Faribault; four brothers, Oliver of Fairmont, Bernard of Crosby, James of Fairmont, and David of Gustavus, Alaska; nieces; and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Martinson Sr. in 1971.
