Harold "Buzz" A. Thompson, USA, Urbandale Health Care Center, Urbandale, Iowa, died at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 78. Survivors include six sons, Leonard Busch, Springfield, Mo., William Busch, Andrew Thompson, Des Moines, Ron Thompson, Muscatine, Iowa, Clyde Thompson, of Colo., and Ken Thompson, Goldfield, Iowa; seven daughters, Rosemary Harris, Iaton, Mo., Chris Boyer, Eagle Grove, Kathy Sandven, Muscatine, Claudia Garcia, Calif., Ida LaMere of Calif., Susan Keenan, Calif., and Sally Gendron, Calif:; 26 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances; and his wife, Mary.

Harold "Buzz" A. Thompson was born June 13, 1924, in Goldfield, Iowa, to Edwin and Ida (Larson) Thompson. He grew up in Goldfield, lived in Missouri, and in 1986 moved to Des Moines. He was a farmer and a truck driver. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22, 3 p.m., at Hamilton's Funeral Home, Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. lo 2 p.m., Saturday, June 22, at Hamilton's Funeral Home. He will be cremated after the service. Hamilton's Funeral Home of Des Moines is in charge of arrangements.
