April 3, 1907 --- July 12, 1977

Emory Charles Williams, Sr., the son of Emery and Lillie Hodge Williams, was born April 3, 1907, at Chelsea, Okla. He attended school at Chelsea, Okla. In the late 1920's he moved to Belmond where he lived for six years before coming to Eagle Grove. On March 30,1942 he was married to Almeda Foster at Webster City. Following their marriage, they made their home in Webster City. In 1956 he returned to Eagle Grove where he made his home until 1972 when he moved to Des Moines. Prior to being a painter in the area, he was a butcher at Nissen's in Webster City.

Emory died Tuesday, July 12th, at the Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 70 years, 3 months, and 9 days, following a lengthy illness. Survivors include a daughter, Laura Williams, Eagle Grove; Emory Williams, Jr., Bellevue, Neb.; Herschel Williams, Des Moines, Ia.; a stepson, Robert Guggisberg, Jordan, Minn.; one grandson, one step-grandson, also Almeda Williams, Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 15, at 10 a.m. at Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Herschel Williams of the King's Way Cathedral Church, Des Moines, officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
