Lily Hodge born Lily Belle Thomas, daughter of Archibald and Mary Thomas was born March 17, 1889 in Oklahoma and passed away Thursday, Dec. 8 at University Hospital in Iowa City. She was united in marriage to Emory Isaac Williams and to this union two sons were born, Emory and Herschel. Following her husbands death, she moved with her family to Iowa. She later married Alonzo Hodge and to this union two sons were born.

Preceding her in death was one infant son, one son Everett W. Hodge, who was killed in World War II, her husband Alonzo Hodge, one brother, Fred Thomas and one sister, Elizabeth. Surviving are two sons, Emory Williams, of Eagle Grove and Herchel Williams of Charles City, three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Laura Williams of Eugene, Oregon. Mrs. Hodge was a faithful member of the Church of the Open Bible and will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Funeral services were held Monday Dec. 12 at Kastler Funeral Home. Dr. Lloyd Meyer pastor of the Church of the Open Bible officiated. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
