J. C. MCGUIRE SERVICE SET FOR TUESDAY

Requiem high Mass will be celebrated for James C. McGuire, 60, at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Breen will be celebrant. Mr. McGuire, retired farmer, of 227 4th NW, died Sunday at a Mason City hospital. He was born Jan. 19, 1900, in Rock Falls, Ill., son of Peter J. and Ellen Agnes (Welch) McGuire. He attended rural school at Rock Falls, Ill., and Belmond, Iowa High School. He was married to Alice McCabe, April 18, 1923, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake. They farmed near Mason City until 1943 when they moved to Mason City. Since that time he had been employed by the Pioneer Hi-brid Seed Corn Co.

Surviving are his wife, three brothers, John F. McGuire, Minneapolis; Frank P. McGuire, Clear Lake, and Thomas V. McGuire, Emmons, Minn., and a sister, Mrs. Harry (Florence) Doyle, Clear Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles, Oct. 17, 1918.

Mr. McGuire was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. The Hogan-McKee Colonial Funeral Home is in charge.
