PETER J. MCGUIRE DIES AT LINCOLN TOWNSHIP HOME
REQUIEM HIGH MASS, ST. PATRICK’S CHURCH WEDNESDAY, 9:30

CLEAR LAKE – Requiem high mass will be celebrated for Peter J. McGuire, 81, who died at his farm home in Lincoln township Monday at 9:35 o’clock on Wednesday. The Rev. J. J. Buzynski, pastor, will conduct the service and burial will be in Clear Lake cemetery. Ward’s funeral home is in charge.

Mr. McGuire had been in failing health for some time but had been up and around the home until the past few days. His wife died Dec. 30, 1943. The rosary was to be said at the McGuire home Monday evening at 8 o’clock. Mr. McGuire was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic church.

Mr. McGuire was born at Sterling, Ill., May 27, 1862, and was married to Miss Ellen Agnes Welch at Tampico, Ill., Dec 25, 1890. They lived at Tampico until 1912 when they moved to Belmond and, in 1919, to the present home. Besides his wife, Mr. McGuire was preceded in death by a son, Charles, who died in France in 1918, and 3 brothers and a sister. Mr. McGuire is survived by 5 children, Edwin McGuire, Minneapolis, Minn.; Clarence McGuire, Mason City; Mrs. Harry Doyle and T. V. McGuire, Clear Lake, and Frank at home, and 4 grandchildren, Patricia and Harriet Doyle and Tommy and Kathleen McGuire, Clear Lake. He is also survived by 3 brothers, James and Michael, Cedar Rapids, and John, Deer Grove, Ill., and a sister, Miss Mary McGuire, Rockford, Ill., who has been at his home the past 2 weeks.
