Mrs. Eva Groves funeral Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Groves were held Friday afternoon in the United Church of Christ, with the minister, Rev. Howell Bischoff, officiating. Burial was in the family lot at Graceland Cemetery, Webster City. Mrs. Groves died Thursday night, June 18, at the Rotary Ann Home, where she had been seriously ill since the winter of 1973. Her death was not unexpected. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Doris Groves of South Laguna Beach Cal.; three sons, Harry of Eagle Grove, Howard of rural Clarion and Max of Tucson, Ariz. Other survivors include eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. R. G. Remley of Webster City. Mrs. Groves had been a resident of Eagle Grove and the area since 1910 except a few years she lived with her husband Carl, in Tucson, Ariz, where they moved in the interest of his health. Mr. Groves died in 1964 and in 1965 Mrs. Groves moved to the Rotary Ann Home to make her residence. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Chapter, E.J., P.E.O. and a past member of the Eagle Grove Woman's Club.

OBITUARY
Eva Jane Groves was born May 22, 1884, at Solon, Ia., the daughter of Sam and Estella Guthrie. She was educated in the Webster City schools. She was united in marriage to Carl Groves of Webster City in 1907, at Marshalltown, Iowa. The couple farmed near Kamrar before moving to the Eagle Grove area in 1910. They retired from the farm in 1939 and moved to Eagle Grove. Mr. Groves died in 1964. Mrs. Groves moved to make her home at the Rotary Ann in May of 1965. She died there on June 18 after a long illness at the age of 91 years and 25 days.

She is survived by three sons: Harry Groves, Eagle Grove; Howard Groves, Clarion; H. Max Groves, Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Doris Groves, South Laguna Beach, Calif.; one sister, Ethel, Mrs. R. G. Remley, Webster City, Ia.; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, and one brother. Mrs. Groves was a member of the United Church of Christ of Eagle Grove; Chapter E.J. PEO; and a former member of Eagle Grove Women's Club.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 20, 1975, at the United Church of Christ, Eagle Grove. Rev. Howell Bischoff officiated, and burial was in the Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, Iowa.
