Memorial services for Edith Keig Meyer, 98, Lawrence, [Kansas] will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Plymouth Congregational Church. Inurnment will be at Dows Cemetery in Dows, Iowa. Mrs. Meyer died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 12, 1906, in West Union, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Laura Ray Keig. She graduated from Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa, in 1927. She taught high school math in Lime Springs and Dows, Iowa, until retiring in 1934. She moved to Vinton, Iowa, in 1948 and to Lawrence in 1990. Mrs. Meyer was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church and Chapter EA of the PEO Sisterhood of Lawrence. She married Wallace S. Meyer on June 24, 1934, in West Union, Iowa. He died in March 1974. Survivors include two sons, Keith G. Meyer, Lawrence, and Kendall R. Meyer, Ponte Verde, Fla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
