October 11, 1933 --- June 21, 2015

G. Conrad Claude, a 1951 graduate of Clarion High School, died June 21, 2015 of congestive heart failure. Born Oct 11, 1933 - and known for his great love of flying, Conrad was preceded in death by his parents, George and Josephine Claude; sisters, Phyllis and Luella. Conrad is survived by wife, Karen; daughters: Linda Parrish-Goeppele (Craighton), Teresa Claude (Steve Knight); step daughters Kari and Lisa Alpin; son, Ron Claude (Donna); four grandchildren and sister, Jeanette Best.

In high school, his extra activities included singing in a quartet, playing the baritone in the band and singing solos. Eddie Arnold and Hank Williams were among his favorite performers and later in life, he enjoyed playing the guitar.

After graduation he moved to Webster City where he married Bonnie Wayman and worked as an auto mechanic at Jansen's and later as a Webster City Policeman while attending the Community College. Conrad also served in the National Guard for many years. Three children later, the family moved to the U of I where he finished his Bachelors' Degree, then moved to Des Moines where he worked for Bell Telephone. Eventually the family settled in Omaha, NE. where he later married Karen and took up flying at the Millard Airport. In keeping with family tradition, Conrad willed his body to an Omaha medical school.
